TL;DR
Research Assistant (Mental Health Research): Supporting qualitative research on the needs of young people accessing integrated youth services with an accent on community data collection, youth engagement, and knowledge translation. Focus on preparing interview guides, coordinating participants, interpreting data, and developing research outputs for academic dissemination.

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global Vancouver Campus in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: $27.47–$32.68 CAD per hour, approximately $4,395–$5,229 CAD per month based on 160 hours.

What you will do

  • Support qualitative data collection in a community setting, including interviews and focus groups.
  • Prepare interview guides, coordinate participant recruitment, and maintain orderly research records.
  • Co-lead youth engagement activities and support working groups in designing research questions.
  • Transcribe interviews and focus groups, assist with data interpretation, and contribute to knowledge translation.
  • Prepare manuscripts, articles, abstracts, posters, and presentations for journals and conferences.
  • Coordinate with the principal investigator, research staff, faculty, graduate students, investigators, trainees, and youth or patient advisors.

Requirements

  • High school graduation, additional related training, and at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, particularly Public Health or another health-related field with research training or a thesis.
  • Training or experience in research, data collection, transcription, and analysis.
  • Good project management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience and demonstrated compassion working with people experiencing mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Valid registration with the appropriate professional college in British Columbia is required where applicable for health professional applicants.
