Buyer (Medical Devices)

What you will do

• Plan, source, buy, negotiate, receive, and manage direct materials and purchase orders.
• Monitor inventory against targets, identify supply gaps, and coordinate solutions with suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships, delivery performance, forecasts, site visits, and performance meetings.
• Review MRP and non-MRP requirements, adjust purchasing plans and parameters, and challenge planning and forecasting inputs.
• Research, approve, and manage suppliers, including developing alternative sources for key products based on risk assessment.
• Coordinate with internal teams on technical and quality issues, apply supply chain optimization practices, and follow purchasing procedures, quality systems, and applicable federal and international standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Experience with QAD or a similar ERP system.
• Experience with MRP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated industry.
