Junior AI & Metadata Engineer (AI)

Location: Charlotte, NC — day-one onsite hybrid. Conditions: Columbia.

Salary: $61,000–$66,302 gross annual base salary for the tagged location. A separate full-time base salary range of $56,186–$87,556 is also stated.

What you will do

• Develop AI-assisted metadata extraction solutions for enterprise assets.
• Build lineage extraction and inference services for automated lineage discovery.
• Implement metadata normalization and enrichment frameworks.
• Develop confidence-scoring and validation mechanisms for generated metadata and lineage insights.
• Evaluate AI model performance and extraction quality.
• Collaborate with data architects and lineage engineers.

Requirements

• Python development experience.
• Experience with generative AI and large language models.
• Prompt engineering skills.
• Knowledge of NLP and information extraction.
• Experience with GCP AI Services.
• Ability to work in a day-one onsite hybrid arrangement in Charlotte, NC.
