Legal Counsel - Principal (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Hoofddorp or Utrecht, Netherlands.

What you will do

• Provide legal guidance and support to multiple hirify.global entities in the Netherlands on Dutch-related activities and compliance with Dutch law.
• Draft, negotiate, and review commercial agreements, including NDAs and contracts with banks, merchants, partners, and suppliers.
• Monitor Dutch and European legal and regulatory developments and translate changes into updates to memoranda, contracts, workflows, and internal processes.
• Handle disputes, claims, and litigation processes while maintaining structured tracking of claim status and progress.
• Assess the required legal scope for business initiatives, balancing commercial momentum with risk mitigation and using legal AI capabilities.
• Coordinate requests from Group Legal and advise on or draft internal policies for hirify.global activities.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Dutch law and at least 4 years of professional legal experience.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.
• Proven commercial contracting experience.
• Meticulous legal monitoring with exceptionally high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, legal research, and legal judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, regulated environments without compromising precision.
• Collaborative approach combined with strong independent decision-making.
• Proactive mindset and a record of exceeding expectations and delivering concrete outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience at a major law firm or equivalent experience in fintech, payments, or banking.
• Experience in regulated financial environments.
• Corporate law background or related regulatory expertise.
