Director, Architect Principal - Digital Messaging (AI)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; San Francisco, CA; or Southlake, TX

Salary: USD $224,000–$275,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Define and drive the target-state architecture for the Digital Messaging platform, including event-driven, cloud-native, and SaaS-integrated solutions.
• Design scalable and resilient distributed systems using microservices and event-streaming architectures with Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Design and develop AI agents with defined goals, tool use, memory, and orchestration logic for complex engineering tasks.
• Lead the adoption of generative AI tools and AI-based development processes across the organization.
• Mentor development teams and promote secure, maintainable engineering practices.
• Partner with product, engineering, infrastructure, SRE, and enterprise architecture teams on modernization, cloud adoption, standards, policies, and governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant architecture and distributed-systems design experience.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents with LangChain, Copilot Workspace, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure, secure coding, legacy application modernization, and highly available mission-critical environments.
• Ability to define and communicate strategy and vision, influence enterprise stakeholders, and analyze global-scale distributed systems.

• Experience working in large enterprise organizations.
• 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
