Senior Engineer Connectivity (Industrial IoT)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States. Domestic relocation assistance is available, and some travel may be required.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support connectivity solutions across machine, site, edge, and cloud environments.
• Lead software and services for machine telemetry, remote monitoring, fleet management, digital products, and autonomous operations.
• Design connectivity architectures using cellular, satellite, private LTE/5G, Wi-Fi, industrial networking, edge gateways, and edge computing platforms.
• Build telemetry, event streaming, messaging, and data ingestion pipelines from machines through edge systems to the cloud.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, architecture reviews, and technical design decisions for complex distributed systems.
• Establish engineering standards, testing strategies, observability practices, and operational improvements while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, connectivity engineering, networking, distributed systems, cloud platforms, or Industrial IoT.
• Advanced software development experience with Python, C, C++, and C#.
• Experience with connected products, telematics, machine telemetry, cloud data pipelines, and Azure, AWS, or cloud-native distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Starlink and satellite communications, LTE/LTE-M/NB-IoT/5G, private LTE/5G, IoT and edge platforms, MQTT, Kafka, AMQP, REST APIs, TCP/IP, VPNs, routing, DNS, and network diagnostics.
• Experience leading architecture discussions and technical design reviews, mentoring engineers, and influencing technical direction.
