Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Onsite in Omaha, Nebraska; Southlake, Texas; or Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and implement network and cloud cybersecurity solutions for complex problems.
• Maintain, optimize, patch, and monitor security tools while automating repetitive operational tasks.
• Build alerting systems, streamline security architectures, and improve user experience across application changes.
• Detect and respond to security issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Use AI technologies such as Microsoft Copilot to automate workflows and improve troubleshooting.
• Deliver security projects, resiliency programs, pilots, and proof-of-concepts in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• 2+ years of experience selecting, designing, deploying, maintaining, and operating cybersecurity tools.
• 2+ years of engineering experience with network and cloud security solutions, including IDS, IPS, WAF, DDoS mitigation, CDN, SIEM, SWG, SASE, ZTNA, or CASB.
• Working knowledge of networking, cloud security, cybersecurity frameworks, and secure design principles.
• Knowledge of compliance and legal requirements including SOX, GLBA, and GDPR.
• A four-year degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience; relevant security, cloud, operating system, or network certifications.

Nice to have

• Automation experience with Python, scripts, Ansible, or Salt.
• Experience integrating AI into cybersecurity workflows.
