Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: United States (Remote)

Base salary: $200,000–$220,000 annually, plus annual bonus incentive and eligibility for an employee equity purchase program.

What you will do

• Set long-term technical strategy and translate business and clinical goals into an organizational technical vision.
• Define architectural standards and guide scalable, stable, efficient, maintainable, and extensible solutions.
• Advise engineering leadership and executives, presenting technical recommendations to VPs and the CTO.
• Explore early-stage ideas and proofs of concept to reduce risk before initiatives are staffed or scoped.
• Coach senior and staff-level engineers, support complex system design, and drive cross-team collaboration and engineering craftsmanship.
• Lead complex cross-organization initiatives, champion AI adoption, participate in on-call support, and partner with product, clinical, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Deep experience in systems, architecture, design, and solving complex technical problems.
• Experience setting technical strategy across multiple engineering teams, defining architectural standards, and mentoring engineers.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and deep understanding of front-end applications, APIs, back-end services, and all layers of web and mobile solutions.
• Experience delivering mobile digital products to the Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Experience using AI as a transformative technology and hosting application services on AWS.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, coaching, estimation, and stakeholder-management skills, including communication with executive and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience developing with React Native.
• Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry.
