TL;DR
Regulatory Specialist (Food, Flavor & Consumer Products) (Food and consumer product compliance): Conducting regulatory research, interpreting FDA and international requirements, and maintaining technical ingredient and product data with an accent on compliance documentation, data integrity, and cross-functional advisory support. Focus on preparing customer documentation, reviewing vendor materials, supporting ISO work instructions, and translating complex regulatory requirements for Procurement, Quality, R&D, and commercial teams.

What you will do

  • Maintain technical data for purchased ingredients by communicating with vendors, reviewing documentation, and updating enterprise databases.
  • Research and interpret regulatory rules, guidance, and statutory requirements for product portfolios and ingredient streams.
  • Support the management, review, and revision of regulatory ISO work instructions and internal compliance policies.
  • Coordinate product specifications, ingredient statements, allergen profiles, nutritional data, GMO reviews, organic compliance, Kosher/Halal certifications, country-of-origin information, and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and education to R&D, Procurement, Quality, commercial teams, and other non-regulatory audiences.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience, preferably in regulatory compliance within food, beverage, flavor, cosmetic, or personal-care industries.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory documentation rules and guidance, with FDA and Canadian regulations preferred.
  • Familiarity with international regulatory standards is advantageous.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and the ability to learn ERP systems and specialized databases quickly.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and customer-service skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

  • Laboratory analytical experience.
  • Experience with international regulatory standards.
