Principal Software Engineer (Medical Devices)

Salary: $152,800–$229,200 USD annually

What you will do

• Design and develop software solutions combining web and mobile platforms for Pelvic Health therapies.
• Own software activities across requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, verification, and product release.
• Provide technical expertise in mobile application architecture, distributed systems, and modern web technologies.
• Participate in technical evaluations, architecture reviews, and strategic design decisions with architects, systems engineers, and product owners.
• Lead onshore and offshore software development teams.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and implement operating system components, software tools, and utilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience, master’s degree with 5 years, or PhD with 3 years.
• Experience designing and developing software across the complete software lifecycle.
• Ability to define software requirements and contribute to verification strategies, test designs, and test cases.
• Experience collaborating with Systems, Electrical Engineering, Security, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.
• Work authorization: the role is based in the United States; sponsorship is offered for Principal-level roles and above.
• For qualifying foreign bachelor’s degrees, the degree must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

Nice to have

• Embedded software development with C and C++.
• Embedded systems design, low-level firmware, device drivers, peripherals, and communication protocols.
• Bluetooth Low Energy firmware development, including connectivity, power optimization, and interoperability across mobile and embedded platforms.
• Medical-device or other regulated-product software development experience.
• Knowledge of hirify.global Neuro devices, programs, and related software applications.
