Senior Software Engineer (Java/React)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; hybrid role

Salary: CAD $90,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain core components of the Securities Finance and Collateral Management platform.
• Build and improve automated integration tests to increase platform quality and reliability.
• Apply TDD and BDD practices to produce resilient software.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and peer mentoring.
• Apply secure coding standards and support compliance with enterprise and regulatory security requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Provide support that may occasionally require evening or weekend overtime.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in agile teams with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and QA teams.
• Proficiency in one or more of Java 17/21, Spring Boot or Spring Framework, Oracle PL/SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, CSS, and REST API design and integration.
• Familiarity with Selenium, Playwright, jMeter, and Cucumber.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; a basic home office setup and high-speed internet are required for the hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with or interest in front-end modernization using React and Redux.
• Experience with C, C#, or WPF.
• Responsible, safe, and productive use of AI or agentic tooling.
