Sr. Software Automation Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Lafayette, Colorado, United States of America

Salary: $124,800–$187,200 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Develop comprehensive test strategies, requirements traceability matrices, test architectures, and data-driven testing approaches.
• Design, develop, test, maintain, document, and validate software testing components and applications.
• Participate in requirements, design, usability, risk assessment, and testing activities throughout product development.
• Improve test automation infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, test data management, and testing efficiency metrics.
• Track and analyze defects, troubleshoot and debug existing products, and communicate solutions to project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, systems, software, and test engineers while following product development and quality system standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or a PhD.
• Experience with software design, development, debugging, testing, GUI applications, and medical devices.
• Advanced Python proficiency, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and file I/O.
• Experience in the medical or another regulated industry and knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations.
• Strong knowledge of iterative software development, agile practices, test-driven development, project planning, and requirements management.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is offered only for Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

• Experience designing scalable test automation frameworks with pytest and unittest.
• Experience with Cypress, Jest, JavaScript, JSON, CSV, pandas, and openpyxl.
• Experience setting up automated CI/CD test execution and reporting.
• Knowledge of TensorFlow or machine learning libraries and Python multiprocessing.
• Linux/Unix experience with Bash, command-line tools, and virtual environments.
