Clinical Genomic Scientist - WGS

What you will do

• Curate variants, genes, and gene-disease correlations according to ACMG guidelines.
• Analyze clinical genomics data and select variants for curation or confirmation.
• Apply HGVS guidelines for variant nomenclature.
• Draft clinical reports, validate tests, refine processes, and present findings.
• Monitor test turnaround times and support task delegation.
• Assist laboratory directors and R&D with validation of new technologies and software platforms.

Requirements

• PhD or MD in clinical medicine, genetics, molecular biology, or an equivalent field; strong candidates with a master's degree and relevant experience may also be considered.
• 2–4 years of variant curation experience.
• Knowledge of genomic variation and its correlation with human disease.
• Experience with data quality assessment and communicating genetic details effectively.
• Excellent medical reading and writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

• MB(ASCP) certification.
• Bioinformatics analysis and variant effect prediction experience.
• Scripting language experience.
• Experience with SOPs, CAP, and CLIA standards.
• Complex case review, phenotype correlation, multi-gene panel and exome interpretation, literature review, evidence assessment, discrepancy resolution, and consensus review experience.
