Director Clinical Bioinformatics

Location: United States, California; ideally based in San Diego or elsewhere in California with regular travel to San Diego

Base salary: $205,100–$307,700 per year, plus eligible variable cash compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Lead bioinformatics design, delivery, and validation for end-to-end assay and application solutions.
• Develop innovative informatics approaches for precision medicine and multi-omics applications.
• Design and implement novel bioinformatics algorithms on the DRAGEN platform.
• Lead multidisciplinary product development projects from concept through commercial release.
• Build relationships with external customers, partners, and key opinion leaders, and represent the organization externally.
• Monitor competitive technologies and develop strategic responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 18 years of related experience.
• At least 10 years of management experience, including experience managing managers.
• Extensive experience developing bioinformatics algorithms for NGS and microarray technologies.
• Experience in oncology, genetics, and reproductive health domains.
• Experience building regulated laboratory-developed tests, distributed IVD products, or regulated instrument systems.
• At least 5 years of experience leading globally distributed teams, with strong communication and execution skills in uncertain, fast-paced environments.
