Consultant - Capital Markets Post-Trade Operations (Fintech)

What you will do

• Evaluate front-to-back institutional trade flows, identify manual touchpoints and settlement failures, and recommend improvements to straight-through processing.
• Assess front-, middle-, and back-office operating models and design current-state, future-state, and target operating model processes.
• Collaborate with technology and automation teams to develop solutions, including opportunities involving AI and data science.
• Interview stakeholders across front office, operations, technology, and compliance, then present evidence-based recommendations.
• Manage assessment workstreams, stakeholder planning, data collection, deliverable quality, and coaching for junior team members.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, and thought leadership related to capital markets post-trade operations.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of relevant experience in management consulting, corporate and investment banking, capital markets, financial services, or operations.
• Hands-on knowledge of the institutional trade lifecycle, including order management, trade capture, allocation, confirmation, clearing, DVP settlement, reconciliation, and fail management.
• Understanding of broker-dealer operational, regulatory, and technology infrastructure across equities and fixed income.
• Familiarity with DTCC platforms, SWIFT messaging standards, and custodian settlement workflows.
• Experience with regulatory, risk, strategy, technology, or operational change initiatives and requirements analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience managing multiple workstreams in fast-paced client environments.

Nice to have

• Awareness of continuous markets, settlement acceleration, ISO 20022 migration, tokenization, and AI-driven post-trade automation.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, or Visio.
