Piping Engineering Professional (Pipe Stress)

Location: Tempe, Arizona 85281; hybrid arrangement with on-site presence at client facilities at least 2 days per week

Salary: $89,400–$101,900 per year

What you will do

• Perform pipe stress analyses for industrial piping systems, including thermal expansion, weight, pressure, seismic, and dynamic loads.
• Design and specify pipe supports, spring hangers, anchors, and guides according to industry codes and project specifications.
• Conduct field verifications at client jobsites, assess existing conditions, and resolve technical discrepancies with construction teams.
• Coordinate stress requirements with piping designers, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers in 3D models and drawings.
• Maintain technical quality, engineering execution, and schedule alignment while managing client expectations and project milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of professional engineering experience focused on piping systems and mechanical design.
• Working knowledge of pipe stress analysis, thermal flexibility, pipe support design, piping codes, material specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on-site at client facilities a minimum of 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in construction environments, field verification, and constructability reviews.
• Proficiency with AutoPIPE or Caesar II.
• Working knowledge of Navisworks and AutoCAD.
