Senior Payments Officer (US Banking)

What you will do

• Prepare, input, review, and support the release of client payments through US bank portals and payment platforms.
• Process ACH, domestic wires, Fedwire, check payments, book transfers, and SWIFT or international wires when required.
• Complete payment activity within service-level agreements, internal deadlines, and US bank cut-off times.
• Maintain maker/checker controls, segregation of duties, approval evidence, audit trails, exception handling, and escalation procedures.
• Check payment statuses, follow up on returned or rejected payments, confirm bank portal activity, and maintain payment records.
• Collaborate with the Banking Team, Payments Center of Excellence, Operations, client-facing teams, and banking partners on queries and process improvements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in financial services, banking operations, treasury, cash management, or payments is preferred.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, or supporting payment releases in a controlled banking environment is essential.
• Working knowledge of US payment rails and banking channels, including ACH, domestic wires, Fedwire, bank portals, and SWIFT or international wires.
• Strong understanding of payment controls, fraud prevention, approval workflows, segregation of duties, exception management, and audit trails.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage time-sensitive payment activity.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills and competent computer skills, including banking platforms, payment systems, Microsoft Office, and workflow tools.
