Senior Backend Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote US

Salary: $124,800–$183,400 USD annually, with geographic pay tiers based on the employee’s home state.

What you will do

• Build features and improvements with product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Extend APIs and backend systems for the fashion marketplace.
• Interface directly with PostgreSQL and improve the testing environment.
• Address architecture, security, anti-fraud, performance, scalability, personalization, optimization, and payment challenges.
• Contribute to code reviews, coordinate across technical and product teams, and mentor other engineers.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and use LLMs when appropriate to improve products and development workflows.

Requirements

• 4+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience building, maintaining, or architecting production web applications.
• Strong knowledge of API design, database design, naming, and simplifying complex services.
• Understanding of deployment, migrations, configuration, and provisioning.
• Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, Sorbet, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.
