Backend Engineer (Web3)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid workplace

Salary: $155,000–$300,000 base salary per year, plus potential equity, performance incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs and backend services for a Web3 payments platform.
• Develop new features that improve the product experience.
• Collaborate with product and protocol teams to architect solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Support incident response and debug production issues to maintain system reliability.

Requirements

• Strong experience building production backend systems with modern programming languages.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and database design principles.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
• Strong computer science hirify.globaldamentals, including data structures and algorithms, plus complex technical problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and effective cross-hirify.globalctional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with blockchain integrations, smart contracts, or DeFi protocols.
• Experience at a crypto startup or Web3 infrastructure company.
• Experience with high-scale payment processing or financial compliance systems.
