Senior Backend Engineer (Web3)

hirify.global is building Web3 infrastructure and consumer products in partnership with Sony and SBI, including Strium, a DeFi Layer 1 with an on-chain orderbook exchange, and hirify.global App.

What you will do

• Own backend architecture and implementation across multiple products in the hirify.global ecosystem.
• Design, build, and operate scalable production APIs, backend services, and distributed systems for customer-facing applications.
• Build data pipelines, background workers, asynchronous processing systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Develop blockchain integrations, indexers, and on-chain data infrastructure for internal and user-facing services.
• Design database schemas, optimize queries, and improve storage scalability, observability, deployment pipelines, and system reliability.
• Diagnose production incidents, performance bottlenecks, and scaling challenges while working with product, infrastructure, and protocol teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and operating production backend systems serving large numbers of users under high traffic and demanding workloads.
• Strong TypeScript skills and experience with NestJS, Fastify, Express, or similar backend frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of API design, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, concurrency, fault tolerance, and reliability.
• Deep PostgreSQL expertise, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, migrations, and production database management.
• Hands-on Web3 backend experience with blockchain infrastructure, node APIs, smart contracts, wallet architecture, transaction flows, DeFi protocols, and indexing systems.
• Experience with observability, logging, monitoring, service health management, and live production incident response.

Nice to have

• Backend development experience with Go.
• Experience with Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems.
• Experience deploying services with Docker and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Open-source contributions to backend, infrastructure, or blockchain tooling.
• Hands-on familiarity with decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, staking systems, bridges, or other DeFi infrastructure.
