Supervisor-System Operations Center (CT)

Location: Windsor, Connecticut, United States. Work is performed primarily in a control center and includes rotating shifts, weekends, nights, emergency restoration assignments, and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary.

Annual salary: $130,990–$145,540, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Supervise control center staff and manage performance through coaching, mentoring, training, and performance measurement.
• Coordinate transmission and distribution operations, load control, switching and tagging, planned work, and system clearances.
• Lead outage response by evaluating restoration alternatives, directing field crews, and communicating system and customer status.
• Analyze system element outage requests, assess risks to system integrity and customer service, and implement corrective actions.
• Improve work processes, operating practices, resource planning, schedules, and materials forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, company procedures, and labor contracts.

Requirements

• Five to ten years of related experience in dispatch, transmission, distribution, generation, field service, system design or installation, customer service, or change management.
• Knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, construction practices, safety standards, and business processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, a related discipline, or equivalent experience; high school diploma required.
• Planning, organization, project and schedule management skills, including computerized work, trouble, materials management, and scheduling tools.
• Working knowledge of labor contracts and proficiency with desktop applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must pass the Shift Operator/Public Dispatch pre-employment test to be eligible for interview.
