Principal Platform Developer (AWS)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Salary: CAD 131,000–191,400 per year base salary for Canada-based roles; offers may exceed this range and may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the technical vision and architecture for scalable platform integrations across development pipelines.
• Design reusable platform capabilities and integration patterns that improve reliability across repositories and engineering workflows.
• Build and evolve developer tooling and CI/CD capabilities that support secure and efficient software delivery.
• Translate complex platform requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions and influence the technical roadmap.
• Establish engineering standards for reliable platform integrations and lead cross-team technical initiatives.
• Mentor senior and mid-level developers through design reviews, architectural guidance, and technical leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with technical leadership and impact beyond one team.
• Advanced Python proficiency and experience designing production-grade systems.
• Strong experience building scalable cloud-native systems on AWS.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD platforms or developer tooling using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes, reliability, observability, operational excellence, and Agile engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go or Java.
• Experience with developer platform tooling, CI/CD integrations, or DevSecOps environments.
• Familiarity with secure development practices, security scanning, or software supply chain concepts.
• Experience influencing architecture and engineering practices across multiple teams without direct management responsibility.
