Lead AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Minneapolis, United States; frequent paid travel to the Minneapolis headquarters for company and team events and in-person collaboration.

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 annual compensation, inclusive of a 25% bonus.

What you will do

• Own the AI workflow infrastructure from initial architecture through production operation.
• Build reusable infrastructure patterns, guardrails, abstraction layers, and integrations that allow non-engineers to create workflows independently.
• Design multi-step orchestration and bidirectional write-back integrations connecting AI systems with project management, communications, analytics, and operational platforms.
• Establish security, governance, access control, credential management, audit logging, and least-privilege standards in partnership with IT and security.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code practices, technical review processes, and post-deployment monitoring for agents and automated workflows.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications, explain feasibility and tradeoffs, and document architecture decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or applied technical roles.
• Production experience designing AI-powered workflow systems, integration platforms, or agent-based automation.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience building production platform or data services.
• Experience building enterprise-scale API integrations, connector frameworks, workflow automation, and bidirectional write-back systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and with MCP or equivalent agent orchestration frameworks.
• Production experience with large language models, security operationalization, and platforms used by non-engineering stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Claude Enterprise, or the Anthropic API.
• Experience operating AI systems in governed or compliance-sensitive environments.
• Experience building multi-step or multi-agent workflows in production.
• Experience integrating project management, analytics, or communications platforms.
• Background in marketing analytics, media, or professional services.
