Lead Product Software Engineer - AI

Location: USA-TX-Remote; hybrid role requiring two days per week in a hirify.global office

Salary: $116,400–$204,075 USD annually

What you will do

• Co-design AI solutions with customers to address real accounting-professional problems and deliver measurable value.
• Design and implement AI features using Python and modern AI frameworks.
• Build intelligent document processing, automated workflows, and AI-powered analytics across the product portfolio.
• Apply technical leadership with a focus on security, product experience, scalability, and cross-portfolio reuse.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, researchers, and engineering teams in fast feedback cycles.
• Use Agile and XP practices, including weekly sprints, TDD/BDD, and pair programming.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software applications, including strong Python experience; JavaScript or TypeScript experience is preferred.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with LLMs or AI systems, preferably NLP, plus full-stack development capabilities.
• 3+ years leading complex technical projects from inception through delivery.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face, and OpenAI APIs, along with vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, and AI optimization.
• Experience with AI coding tools, GenAI development utilities, Agile/XP, TDD/BDD, and pair programming.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption of new technologies.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure AI-102 certification and experience with Azure AI services.
• Experience with advanced or multimodal AI systems, MLOps, AI governance, or RAG.
• Experience with document processing, financial data analysis, B2B professional software, or regulated environments.
• Understanding of UX/UI and experience in startups, innovation teams, or product-focused companies.
