Research Coordinator (Health Research)

Salary: CAD 5,692.25–8,179.50 monthly; starting wage between CAD 5,692.25 and 6,258.15 per month

What you will do

• Coordinate administrative processes, meetings, workshops, events, calendars, reimbursements, financial reconciliation, equipment maintenance, and communications for the Diabetes Prevention Research Group laboratory.
• Monitor grant project expenditures, partner invoices, project plans, timelines, deliverables, inventory, research materials, and equipment.
• Support grant applications, strategic work plans, research reports, academic proposals, publications, presentations, and communications across websites, social media, video, podcasts, and printed materials.
• Monitor research data collection, tracking, management, archiving, and compliance with ethical and financial protocols.
• Build relationships with researchers, students, staff, partners, community members, government representatives, and research participants.
• Support hiring, reappointments, onboarding, training, and offboarding of research assistants and coordinate research team operations.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline or business.
• At least two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong written and oral communication, editing, proofreading, organization, attention to detail, initiative, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate effectively, adapt to changing priorities, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience managing multi-phase research projects through completion.
• Experience with grant submissions and research portals such as ResearchNet and Common CV.
• Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods in health or partnered research.
• Experience supporting partnerships between researchers and research users.
