Senior Solutions Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid position based in Salem, Oregon, United States; all roles are U.S.-based. Travel of approximately 20–50% is required for customer deployments, pilots, and field testing.

What you will do

• Architect and execute integrations across robotic systems, customer APIs, sensors, software, PLCs, conveyors, and other industrial equipment.
• Develop software integrations, custom tools, scripts, and modules using Python, REST API, and MQTT.
• Design mechatronics and industrial automation solutions that adapt customer applications to Digit’s capabilities.
• Lead on-site commissioning, field testing, customer requirement scoping, and iterative technical problem-solving.
• Identify systemic issues, collaborate with Product and Systems Engineering, and provide field feedback for roadmap improvements.
• Build reusable integration templates, deliver technical training and documentation, and mentor junior and mid-level team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 6+ years of experience deploying robotics or automation systems in real-world environments.
• Experience designing mechatronics systems or industrial automation.
• Expertise in Python, networking, and hardware/software system interfacing.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work across engineering, product, and customer stakeholders.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux, ROS, safety standards, electromechanical systems, or industrial networks.
• Advanced programming skills in C++, TypeScript, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Experience with SDKs, developer tools, integration frameworks, reusable deployment tooling, or customer-focused robotics pilots.
