Data Engineer

Location: Southlake, Texas, United States; hybrid work with regular in-person collaboration.

Salary: $90,000–$102,600 per year

What you will do

• Review requirements and technical designs during PI planning and provide feedback to Product Owners and development teams.
• Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage testing activities and release cycles across multiple data engineering initiatives.
• Define and maintain test strategies, scenarios, test plans, and regression coverage for new features, enhancements, and defect fixes.
• Lead functional, regression, UAT, and production defect validation, including defect triage and closure.
• Design, develop, and execute test automation scripts for data warehouse environments.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, results, and QA sign-off while advising teams on automation and quality engineering practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of overall experience, including at least 8 years as a Quality Engineer supporting data warehouse and ETL projects.
• Hands-on experience testing data warehouse ETL applications with IICS or PowerCenter.
• Experience with large-scale data engineering initiatives and cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong Python scripting and SQL skills for data validation, data flow testing, and analysis.
• Experience with Unix, shell scripting, DevOps, CI/CD tools including Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with manual and automated testing, Agile frameworks, Jira or Rally, SDLC, root cause analysis, and stakeholder communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with Excel macros, Word, and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with Control-M.
• Performance testing experience with JMeter, AppDynamics, or similar tools.
