Location: Washington, District of Columbia, USA; regular travel between properties is required.

Salary: $140,065.55–$164,783.00 per year

What you will do

  • Lead and supervise engineering and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, career development, scheduling, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee engineering operations across 2 million square feet, nine buildings, and four parking garages.
  • Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, building automation, energy management, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate inspections, energy audits, environmental and ADA compliance, regulatory permits, contractors, tenant improvements, and service contracts.
  • Support operating and capital budget development, cost analysis, feasibility studies, bidding, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Support rehabilitation and construction projects, including HVAC replacements, roof installations, plumbing repairs, final inspections, and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of engineering experience with significant supervisory responsibility in a commercial property setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, controls, building systems, and their operation, installation, and maintenance.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; vocational or technical training certificate.
  • Appropriate trade licenses or permits may be required, including journeyman or master electrician, city licenses, or CFC technician certification.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, project controls, environmental regulations, energy management systems, fire alarm systems, and building management systems.
  • Proficiency in staff scheduling, preventive maintenance planning, financial reporting, budget variance analysis, Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Nice to have

  • High Rise Fire Safety Director, Fire Pump, FMA, or similar certifications.
