What you will do

  • Design, construct, and optimize engineered biological systems in bacterial and mammalian hosts.
  • Develop novel genetic circuits and metabolic pathways for synthetic biology applications.
  • Conduct wet-lab experiments, high-throughput screening, and analysis of experimental data.
  • Propose bioengineering solutions, recommend design modifications, and adapt approaches as requirements evolve.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, present findings, and develop new research ideas.
  • Mentor junior and senior research colleagues and contribute to proposals, grants, and new programs.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. with 5+ years of research experience, or a master's degree with 10+ years of experience in synthetic biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing synthetic circuits in bacterial systems such as E. coli or B. subtilis, and mammalian systems such as CHO, HEK 293, or primary cells.
  • Experience with metabolic pathway engineering and high-throughput screening.
  • Strong biology and/or engineering foundation, independent problem-solving ability, and experience working collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, cell biology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, engineering, physics, or a related field is required; a Ph.D. is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Publications in high-impact journals or patents in synthetic biology.
  • Knowledge of bioprocess scale-up, including bioreactors, fed-batch, and perfusion processes.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven protein design and enzyme engineering.
  • Experience communicating ideas in proposal or grant formats.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
