What you will do

  • Produce genetic perturbation libraries, including CRISPR, ORF, shRNA, and saturation mutagenesis libraries.
  • Execute DNA preparation workflows, including quantification, normalization, quality monitoring, and sample rearraying.
  • Prepare samples for next-generation sequencing and manage glycerol, DNA, and virus inventories.
  • Perform high-complexity laboratory testing, quality control activities, calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and improve laboratory processes, adopt new technologies, and troubleshoot workflow issues.
  • Document and communicate project results and assist with the general supervision of laboratory personnel.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree in Biology or Chemistry; diploma and transcripts may be requested.
  • At least 2 years of relevant full-time laboratory experience after obtaining the degree.
  • Recent hands-on experience with standard laboratory equipment, including pipettes and centrifuges.
  • Working knowledge of biological science principles and experience with genomic, microbiology, cell biology, or molecular biology methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of computers, databases, and Windows or Mac environments; adherence to standard operating procedures is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with laboratory automation.
  • Experience with statistical analysis.
  • Training or experience in JMP, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methods.
