TL;DR
Senior Engineer, Grid Operations Technology (Energy Management Systems): Maintaining and improving EMS applications such as State Estimator, Real Time Contingency Analysis, Loadflow, and Dispatcher Training Simulator software with an accent on power-system reliability, telemetry accuracy, and operational support. Focus on designing complex transmission-system solutions, developing emergency and training scenarios, and solving advanced engineering problems across MA, CT, and NH.

Location: Dorchester, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Must be able to work up to five days in the office when required and travel between MA, CT, and NH.

Annual salary: $129,450.00–$143,830.00, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

  • Maintain and support Energy Management System and Dispatcher Training Simulator applications, including State Estimator, Real Time Contingency Analysis, and Loadflow software.
  • Monitor EMS performance, system reliability, telemetry accuracy, and solution confidence, producing related technical reports.
  • Design, construct, and implement complex systems supporting electric transmission and distribution operations.
  • Develop telemetry discrepancy monitoring methods and create operational, emergency, and dispatcher training scenarios.
  • Train Transmission System Operators and provide technical support to system planning, asset strategy, engineering, and operating groups.
  • Research innovative technologies and coordinate technical efforts with ISO-NE and other control centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of power systems analysis, power delivery system operation, and power system theory.
  • Experience with advanced electric system modeling software, such as State Estimator and Loadflow applications.
  • Strong engineering judgment, creativity, problem-solving ability, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship to start employment will not be considered.

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
