Assoc/VP, Assistant Controller (Digital Assets)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid/flexible working arrangements

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 USD base salary per year, plus discretionary bonus and equity incentives

What you will do

• Review quarterly and annual fund NAVs, capital allocations, partner capital statements, management fees, carried interest, and distribution waterfalls.
• Manage capital calls, distributions, limited partner commitments, contributions, distributions, and unfunded balances.
• Manage fund cash, expenses, treasury, investment funding, and closing mechanics.
• Prepare Schedules of Investments and valuation committee materials, including coordination of ASC 820 fair value marks.
• Support fund launches, product development, SPVs, co-investment vehicles, audits, tax processes, and investor inquiries.
• Maintain investment-level records and support liquid hedge fund products and operational improvements using AI and automation.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of accounting experience across public and private accounting.
• Experience with venture capital, private equity, or closed-end fund accounting, including capital calls, distributions, and capital account allocations.
• Experience coordinating with third-party fund administrators and managing audits of closed-end fund structures.
• Working knowledge of limited partnership agreements, management fees, carried interest, and waterfall provisions.
• Familiarity with ASC 820 fair value measurement for Level 3 illiquid private investments.

Nice to have

• CPA qualification.
• Experience with digital assets, cryptocurrencies, SAFEs, convertible notes, token warrants, or direct token investments.
• Experience with SPVs, co-investment vehicles, client service, or direct stakeholder communication.
