Associate, Construction Lending (Fintech)

Location: Fort Lee, New Jersey, United States; hybrid/onsite role.

Salary: $75,000–$125,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support the origination and underwriting of construction loans across residential and commercial asset types.
• Source new leads through existing relationships and digital and in-person networking.
• Analyze property details, financial pro formas, construction budgets, client data, and other information to assess creditworthiness.
• Evaluate credit risk, repayment sources, and appropriate loan structures; prepare credit memos and present loans for approval.
• Manage third-party engagements, inspections, title continuations, and the construction draw/requisition process.
• Coordinate with loan servicing, auditors, regulators, and borrowers to resolve payment, documentation, and loan-file issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant construction lending underwriting experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks under tight time constraints.
• Knowledge of commercial lending trends, competition, regulations, and banking compliance policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
