Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (Deputy CISO)

Location: Hybrid in the United States, including San Francisco, California

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 base salary per year, plus equity and an annual bonus

What you will do

• Lead and scale company-wide information security, risk management, compliance, and data governance programs.
• Drive AI and data security initiatives, including data protection, governance, threat modeling, and AI safety frameworks across product development.
• Present security posture, cyber-risk metrics, incident reports, and strategic roadmaps to executive leadership, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors.
• Partner with Legal and Risk teams on privacy requirements, AI/ML governance, regulatory compliance, and technology risk.
• Represent security in enterprise customer meetings, sales cycles, audits, and external reviews.
• Oversee vendor risk management, software supply-chain security, detection and response, identity and access governance, and cloud-native security operations.

Requirements

• Executive-level experience leading security, data governance, compliance, and risk programs.
• Required certifications: CISSP, CIPT, FAIR, and CRISC.
• Experience presenting complex security and risk topics to Audit Committees and Board members.
• Hands-on experience architecting, evaluating, or deploying AI security solutions and AI safety or governance frameworks.
• Extensive experience with vendor risk management, third-party compliance, software supply-chain risk, and security operations in cloud-native SaaS environments.
• Deep experience with enterprise security platforms, including Okta and CrowdStrike.

• Background in high-growth technology companies, AI/ML products, or B2B technology sectors.
