Data Analyst (Healthcare)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates within 50 miles of Overland Park, Kansas may participate in the local office collaboration experience. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Build and maintain claims-based extracts and performance measures from Medicare CMS data sources, including CCW and LDS.
• Develop HHVBP, MSPB-PAC, utilization, efficiency, hospitalization, emergency-room, length-of-stay, composite, and percentile measures.
• Translate CMS regulations, Final Rules, and measure specifications into accurate, reproducible SQL logic.
• Write and optimize SQL against large claims datasets in BigQuery and contribute to data pipelines, lookup-table refreshes, and extract automation.
• Produce referral, competitive-analysis, market, and benchmark extracts and validate outputs against CMS public benchmarks.
• Investigate data-quality issues, document methodologies, and prepare data for BI and visualization layers while collaborating with product managers and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, health-informatics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of data-analysis experience with strong SQL skills for large, complex datasets.
• Direct experience with Medicare/CMS claims data, such as CCW, LDS, LDS/RIF, or comparable sources.
• Knowledge of healthcare claims coding structures, including ICD, HCPCS/CPT, revenue codes, and DRGs.
• Ability to translate written methodologies into analytical logic and validate results for accuracy.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Home Health, Hospice, post-acute care, or value-based care programs.
• Experience with CMS quality and value-based methodologies and Final Rules.
• Experience with BigQuery or Snowflake and BI tools such as Sisense, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Familiarity with risk adjustment, benchmarking, or Python-based data transformation and automation.
