Senior Backend Engineer (Java/AI)

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and deploy scalable applications using Java in cloud-based environments.
• Develop and integrate AI-powered agents using agent-based architectures and emerging AI technologies.
• Design, implement, and optimize solutions based on relational databases.
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures with Docker and related technologies.
• Participate in CI/CD processes, apply DevOps practices, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, maintainable, and high-quality software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Extensive professional experience with Java and relational databases.
• Experience designing and deploying cloud-based applications, as well as coding and developing AI agents.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and microservices, familiarity with CI/CD, and professional experience with Microsoft .NET / C#.
• Advanced or fluent English, spoken and written, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI tools to improve coding, debugging, documentation, analysis, and automation.
• Experience with Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agent architectures, or agentic workflows.
• Knowledge of digital publishing, publishing platforms, or publishing technologies.
• Experience working in agile or DevOps-oriented teams.
