Senior Software Development Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve scalable Java backend services and customer experiences for the Air Supply platform.
• Develop APIs, data models, service integrations, and reusable backend components across multiple domains.
• Own the full service lifecycle, including implementation, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, optimization, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with product, design, partner engineering, airline, and distribution-system teams to deliver reliable booking solutions.
• Use experimentation, analytics, and data-driven methods to improve performance, reliability, and traveler experience.
• Integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled capabilities responsibly in Java-based products and workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience building and operating production backend or full-stack services, with substantial Java experience.
• Experience owning backend service design, implementation, quality, deployment, and operational health.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with backend microservices, RESTful APIs, modern web technologies, and service architectures.
• Familiarity with AI-driven tools or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-traffic, latency-sensitive systems, performance tuning, resilience, and reliability engineering.
• Experience with instrumentation, observability, alerting, on-call, and incident response.
• Experience with A/B testing, experimentation, analytics, and AI/ML capability integration.
