What you will do

• Conduct detailed audits of outpatient professional fee coding records.
• Review coding accuracy, documentation, and compliance.
• Identify coding trends, gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Apply academic medical center standards and coding guidelines to complex scenarios.
• Document audit findings and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
• Contribute expert coding and audit feedback to AI training, audit program management, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of medical coding experience focused on outpatient professional fee coding and auditing.
• Direct experience conducting or managing audits in academic medical centers.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding guidelines, compliance requirements, and audit methodologies.
• Ability to identify coding errors and provide actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with audit program management.
