Certified Inpatient Medical Coding Auditor

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, scheduled between 6AM and 6PM.

Salary: $71,100–$97,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Review inpatient medical records and hospital claims for accurate coding and reimbursement.
• Assign and validate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes.
• Audit coding quality and identify opportunities to improve payment accuracy and reduce costs.
• Investigate and resolve provider disputes using clinical documentation and coding evidence.
• Analyze complex clinical documentation and coding scenarios.
• Collaborate with internal teams to clarify medical and coding information.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of MSDRG coding audit experience.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification held for at least 4 years.
• Experience conducting inpatient coding audits in a health insurance or hospital setting.
• Experience reading and interpreting claims.
• Ability to gather and reference data across multiple systems simultaneously.
• Must work remotely from within the United States and maintain a dedicated workspace protecting member PHI/HIPAA information.

Nice to have

• APDRG coding or auditing experience.
• Financial recovery experience.
• Experience in a metrics-driven operational environment.
