Profee Cardiology Medical Coder Remote

Salary: $26–$28 per hour

What you will do

• Review outpatient, physician, and emergency room medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract relevant information according to client guidelines.
• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and established coding principles.
• Request physician clarification for ambiguous or conflicting documentation.
• Support coding education and mentor trainees or new hires when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and official coding and reporting guidelines.

Requirements

• CPC certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of professional fee cardiac coding experience.
• Experience with Epic/3M 360.
• Ability to code Clinic E&M, CPTs, echocardiograms, remote monitoring, and EKGs.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines, reimbursement systems, and applicable documentation, billing, and payer regulations.
• Successful completion of a coding proficiency test and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience coding observation and inpatient charts.
