Operational Technology (OT) Engineer

What you will do

• Support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and upgrade of critical OT systems and infrastructure.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies through proof-of-concepts, technical research, and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with operational control and engineering teams to develop, test, and maintain critical control systems.
• Improve OT reliability, security, availability, and performance through monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation.
• Contribute to incident response, disaster recovery exercises, backup management, and recovery testing.
• Investigate complex technical issues, faults, and performance challenges while supporting continuous service improvement and out-of-hours standby activities.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience working with Operational Technology systems, including troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and performance improvement.
• Experience analysing system failures and implementing solutions that improve reliability, resilience, and operational effectiveness.
• Strong understanding of OT monitoring, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
• Experience contributing to technical projects as a subject matter expert or technical delivery specialist.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, disaster recovery, backup management, and operational resilience in critical infrastructure environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with customers, suppliers, operational teams, and multidisciplinary technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in critical infrastructure, utilities, energy, industrial, or manufacturing OT environments.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, best practices, and emerging OT technologies.
• Experience participating in cybersecurity exercises, incident response, or resilience testing programmes.
