Senior Engineer, Distribution Automation (Hybrid Schedule)

Location: Westwood, Massachusetts, United States. Hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays; availability for up to five office days may be required. Travel across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required approximately 20% of the time, including emergency storm assignments.

Salary: $129,450–$143,830 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Plan, design, implement, and operate wireless SCADA data telecommunications systems for electric distribution operations.
• Configure and specify wireless telecommunications equipment and interfaces with field RTU devices.
• Support construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital microwave, mobile and fixed wireless networks, paging systems, and related infrastructure.
• Analyze wireless SCADA communications data and troubleshoot field-device communication failures affecting remote operations.
• Coordinate with senior engineering staff and Field Communications to select technologies, build networks, and deliver assigned projects.
• Apply IEEE, IEC, NERC, and other applicable industry and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting wireless SCADA data telecommunications systems.
• Understanding of wireless SCADA systems using radio, cellular, and fiber media.
• Basic understanding of SCADA engineering concepts, particularly the DNP 3.0 protocol.
• Strong communication, presentation, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship, including H-1B, O-1, J-1, TN, or E-3 sponsorship, will not be considered.

Nice to have

• Experience applying wireless SCADA telecommunications infrastructure in utility environments using DNP 3.0.
• Understanding of electric utility systems.
