What you will do

• Develop a research programme supporting progression toward scientific independence in cardiovascular research.
• Design a clinical or non-clinical project aligned with one or more BHF Manchester CRE themes.
• Investigate areas including cardiovascular genomics and development, heart failure, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular inflammation, data science, or computational cardiovascular medicine.
• Develop research addressing heart failure after myocardial infarction, including patients under 60 where relevant.
• Work with senior CRE investigators and use fellowship support for research consumables.

Requirements

• PhD, or research MD for clinical candidates, completed before application.
• Research proposal must align with at least one BHF Manchester CRE Research Theme.
• Proposals must also align with the strategic interests of the Kusuma Trust.
• Research samples addressing heart failure after myocardial infarction should include some patients under 60.
• Clinical training proposals and pharmacological intervention proposals in heart failure are not eligible.

Hiring process

• Stage 1: hirify.global review of applications and research proposals, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.
• Stage 2: Proposals from candidates progressing beyond the interview are submitted to the Kusuma Trust for final evaluation and confirmation.
