AWM, External Investing Group, Early-Stage Capital, Investment Associate - San Francisco

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; office-based position.

Salary: USD 100,000–170,000 base salary annually, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Drive due diligence for direct investments and fund commitments across early-stage and other investment strategies.
• Create financial analyses, waterfall models, and internal investment memos.
• Research market trends and sector reports to develop industry perspectives, particularly across technology products, trends, and business models.
• Source new investment opportunities and support execution throughout the deal process.
• Analyze, monitor, and manage current portfolio holdings.
• Attend conferences and industry events, build personal networks, maintain firm relationships, and support operational activities.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree from a leading undergraduate institution.
• 2–3+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, venture capital, or private equity.
• Excellent research and analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Curiosity and an open mind toward technology trends, products, and business models across multiple segments.
• Passion for understanding venture capital and technology from investment, legal, and operational perspectives.
• Adaptability, collaborative working style, and ability to work as a team player.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
