Sr. Software Development Engineer, Aurora Open Source Engines

hirify.global Web Services develops and operates cloud services, including the Aurora relational database platform.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software components for hirify.global Aurora database engines.
• Build large-scale, highly available, always-on database systems running across thousands of servers and multiple data centers.
• Solve complex problems in distributed systems, concurrency, database internals, caching, query optimization, languages, and performance engineering.
• Improve service performance, durability, cost efficiency, and security.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews while communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work cross-functionally and provide technical input for business decisions.

Requirements

• Professional, non-internship software development experience.
• Experience mentoring engineers, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience leading architecture and design for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Professional programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
