Sr. Software Engineer (C++, CI/CD, Data Structures, Algorithms, OOD) – Hybrid

Location: Hybrid position based in Chicago, Illinois, USA

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and maintain C++ systems for Symbology and company-wide data resolution.
• Design and optimize scalable, service-oriented systems with high throughput and low latency.
• Build APIs, interfaces, and integration layers for internal and external clients.
• Participate in technical design and code reviews to improve reliability and engineering quality.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, debug, and refine production environments supporting critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to future technical or team leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional C++ programming experience.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
• Experience designing and implementing critical, distributed, and scalable enterprise systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Exposure to CI/CD workflows or automation tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.

Nice to have

• Experience with Perl, Python, or Shell.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as MSSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with Perforce, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Understanding of financial data concepts or large-scale symbol resolution for financial instruments.
