Controls Engineer (Support Team) (Marine Controls)

Location: Headquarters in North East England, with on-site work as required; overseas work may occasionally be required

Salary: Up to £55,000 basic per year plus offshore allowances

hirify.global is recruiting for an engineering role focused on bespoke machinery and control systems.

What you will do

• Specify and design control system circuits and technical documentation.
• Develop and simulate PLC, HMI/SCADA systems and software.
• Configure and commission inverter drives and perform on-site fault-finding.
• Check electrical schematics, calculations, and system architecture.
• Conduct functional safety studies and review designs against DNV and other applicable standards.
• Select and procure control components, support sales proposals, and liaise with suppliers.

Requirements

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
• Experience designing and commissioning safety automation and control systems for marine or hazardous environments.
• Understanding of PLC programming for safety and process applications.
• On-site commissioning and fault-finding experience.
• Siemens TIA Portal experience and experience with SIL.
• Open-minded, adaptable, collaborative, and able to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with DNV certification.
