Superintendent, Liquefied Natural Gas Plant (Waterbury)

Location: Waterbury, Connecticut, United States. The role requires on-site work at an LNG facility and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary.

Annual salary: $133,720–$148,580, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Supervise the LNG Plant Maintenance Supervisor and Operations Supervisor.
• Lead daily plant operations and maintenance while promoting safety, reliability, efficiency, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance.
• Implement the LNG process safety plan, plant policies, maintenance procedures, personnel qualification programs, and operational competency evaluations.
• Coordinate with LNG engineers, compliance staff, contractors, regulators, and corporate stakeholders on inspections, reporting, training, and process improvements.
• Manage capital and operations and maintenance budgets, staffing requirements, purchasing documentation, invoices, and operational reports.
• Oversee maintenance of propane-air facilities, required Operator Qualifications, emergency storm assignments, and business continuity responsibilities.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant process plant operations and maintenance supervision experience.
• Demonstrable and verifiable knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance and plant operations best practices.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in engineering or a relevant technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong leadership, administrative, communication, procedure development, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications, pass the required LNG physical within 30 days of hire, and maintain a valid motor vehicle license.
