Tooling & Fixture Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States; on-site

Salary: $118,000–$135,000 per year plus bonus; restricted stock units included.

What you will do

• Design and detail jigs, fixtures, assembly aids, and test tooling for modular buildings and electrical switchgear using SolidWorks.
• Create fabrication drawings, bills of materials, and complete technical packages.
• Participate in DFM/DFMA reviews and provide engineering input on tooling complexity, accessibility, and cost.
• Coordinate first-article inspections with fabrication vendors, document results, and manage non-conformances.
• Author work instructions and tooling setup sheets, maintaining synchronization with ECO-driven changes.
• Support production-floor troubleshooting, tooling lifecycle management, engineering changes, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• 3–6 years of experience in fixture design, tooling engineering, or mechanical design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling, including sheet metal and weldments, and drawing creation.
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T for fixture locating schemes and inspection report interpretation.
• Practical understanding of machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods on the production floor; participation in the required drug and alcohol program is required for this safety-sensitive position.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks PDM, sheet metal enclosures, structural weldments, or electrical switchgear.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and poka-yoke principles.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems in manufacturing.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• EIT credential or progress toward PE licensure.
