Senior Solution Engineer

Location: Canberra, Australia; hybrid office- and customer-facing role with high in-person contact

What you will do

• Partner with Sales Executives and channel partners to navigate complex sales cycles and secure new business.
• Build technical and executive relationships with Australian Federal Public Sector customers across defence, national security, law enforcement, and health.
• Translate customer requirements and mission outcomes into scalable Snowflake data architectures and solutions.
• Deliver whiteboarding sessions, technical demonstrations, executive briefings, and enterprise Proofs of Concept.
• Present Snowflake technology, roadmap, and vision to government executives and technical teams.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing while sharing customer feedback and tracking competitive technologies.

Requirements

• Based in Canberra and committed to maintaining a high in-person office presence and direct customer interaction.
• Active Australian Government Security Clearance, preferably NV1 or higher, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
• 10+ years of technical industry experience, including at least 5 years in pre-sales or solution engineering.
• Experience translating complex business and mission problems into scalable data architectures and actionable solutions.
• Strong presentation, storytelling, whiteboarding, live demonstration, discovery, and executive communication skills.
• Experience with enterprise databases, data warehouses, ETL, analytics, cloud platforms, data lakes, data mesh, data fabric, SQL, SQL analytics, and Python.

Nice to have

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree in Data Science or Business Administration.
• Experience working alongside Global Systems Integrators such as EY, Deloitte, or Accenture.
